The starting mountain range of The Classic of the Southern Mountains is Queshan. The most famous peak in Queshan is Zhaoyao Mountain, which is located on the West Sea. There are abundant osmanthus trees, gold and jade growing on the mountain. There is a kind of grass in the mountains, which is similar in shape to a leek but has green flowers. It is called Zhuyu. After eating it, you can eliminate hunger. There is also a tree that is shaped like a walnut tree but has black texture and flowers blooming everywhere. It is called Migu. Wearing it can prevent you from getting lost. There is a beast in the mountains, which looks like a monkey but has white ears. It can walk on the ground and run. It is called the yang. Eating its meat can enhance your running ability. Li Bao's water originates from this mountain and flows westward into the sea. There are many yupei in the water. Wearing it can prevent acne.
Three hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Tangting Mountain. There are a large number of ash trees and white apes on the mountain, and it is also rich in jade and gold. Three hundred and eighty miles further east, there is a mountain called Monkey Wing Mountain. There are many monsters in the mountain, many strange fish in the water, and an abundance of white jade, vipers, strange snakes and strange trees. Humans cannot climb it.
Three hundred and seventy miles further east, there is a mountain called Zhuyang Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in red gold, and the northern slope is rich in white gold. There is a beast in the mountains, which is shaped like a horse but has a white head, stripes on its body like a tiger, and a red tail. Its cry is like singing. It is called Lushu. Wearing its fur is beneficial to the reproduction of descendants. The strange water originates from this mountain and flows eastward into the Xianyi Water. There are many black turtles in the water. They are shaped like turtles but have the head of a bird and the tail of a snake. They are called whirling turtles. Their sound is like chopping wood. Wearing it can Prevent deafness and can also be used as a padding material for the bottom of a boat.
Three hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Zhishan. There is a lot of water in the mountain and no vegetation. There is a kind of fish in the mountains. It is shaped like an ox and lives on the hills. It has a tail and wings like a snake. It has feathers on its underside. It sounds like an ox. It is called a fish. It dies in the winter and comes back to life in the summer. You can eat its meat without having to eat it. Swelling disease.
Four hundred miles to the east, there is a mountain called Zhuoyuan Mountain. There is a lot of water in the mountain and there is no vegetation, so it is impossible to climb. There is a beast in the mountains, which looks like a civet cat but has long hair. It is called a beast. It is a self-mating animal. Eating its meat can make people not jealous.

There is also a bird whose shape is like a dove and whose cry is like scolding. It is called Guan Guan. Wearing it can make people not confused. Yingshui originates from this mountain and flows southward into Jiyi Lake. There are many red ducks in the lake. They are shaped like fish but have human faces. They cry like mandarin ducks. If you eat their meat, you will not get scabies.
Three hundred and fifty miles further east, there is a mountain called Jiwei Mountain. Its tail extends to the East China Sea, where there are many sand and rocks. The Shishui River originates from here and flows southward into the Weihe River. There are many white jade in the river.
From the peak of Que Mountain, Zhaoyao Mountain, to Jiwei Mountain, there are ten mountains, with a total distance of 1,950 miles. The mountain gods of these mountains all have the body of a bird and the head of a dragon. The etiquette for worshiping these mountain gods is to bury a piece of jade in the ground. The grain used for the sacrifice is rice, a kind of wall rice, with white sedge as the mat.
The first mountain in the Southern Second Meridian is called Cabinet Mountain. It faces the nearby Yellow River to the west, Zhupi Mountain to the north, and Changyou Mountain to the east. Four hundred and fifty miles southeast, there is a mountain called Changyou Mountain. It has no vegetation and lots of water. There is a beast here, which looks like a monkey but has four ears. Its name is Changyou. Its cry is like a chant. There are usually big floods wherever it appears.
Three hundred and forty miles further east, there is a mountain called Yaoguang Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in jade, and the northern slope is rich in gold. There is a beast here, which looks like a human but has the mane of a pig. It lives in caves and hibernates in winter. It is called Puli. Its sound is like chopping wood. Wherever it appears, there is usually heavy labor.
Three hundred and fifty miles further east, there is a mountain called Yushan. There is a lot of water at the foot of the mountain and rain on the mountain. There is no vegetation and there are many vipers.
Three hundred and seventy miles further east, there is a mountain called Qufu Mountain. It has no vegetation and is rich in gold and jade. Four hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Juyu Mountain. It has no vegetation and is rich in gold and jade. Five hundred miles further to the east, there is a mountain called Fuyu Mountain. You can see Ju District to the north and Zhupi to the east. There is a beast here, which looks like a tiger but has the tail of an ox. It barks like a dog. Its name is a pig. It is a man-eating animal. Tiao River originates from the northern slope of the mountain and flows northward into the Gu area. There are many fish in the river.
Five hundred miles to the east, there is a mountain called Chengshan. It is a square mountain with a three-story platform on it. There are many gold and jade on the top and green jade on the bottom. The Yan River originates from here and flows southward into the Huishao River. There is a lot of gold in the river.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Kuaiji Mountain. It is a square mountain with many gold and jade on the top and many jade stones on the bottom. Shaoshui originates from here and flows southward into the Jianhe River.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Yishan. It has no vegetation and is full of sand and rocks. The Jian River originates from here and flows southward into Lietu.
Five hundred miles further to the east, there is a mountain called Pugou Mountain. There are many gold and jade on the top and many grass and trees on the bottom. There are no birds, animals, and no water.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Xianyin Mountain with no vegetation or water. Four hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Xun Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in gold, and the northern slope is rich in jade. There is a beast that looks like a sheep but has no mouth and cannot be killed. Its name is unknown. The Xun River originates from here and flows southward into Yanze, where there are many pyrenees.
Four hundred miles further to the east, there is a mountain called Huishao Mountain. There are many phoenix trees on the top and many thorn trees on the bottom. The Pang River originates from here and flows eastward into the sea.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Quwu Mountain. It has no vegetation and is full of sand and gravel. Lushui originates from here and flows southward into Pangshui. Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Luwu Mountain. There is no vegetation on it, but there are many gold and stones. Zegenshui originates from here and flows southward into Pangshui. There is a beast in the water called Gu Diao. It looks like a vulture, has horns, and sounds like a baby. It is a man-eating beast.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Qiwu Mountain. It has no vegetation, many stones, and no jade. This mountain is located by the sea, looking east to the hills, whose light disappears and appears, where the sun sets.
In total, there are seventeen mountains from Mount Ai, the first mountain on the Southern Second Meridian, to Mount Qiwu, with a total distance of 7,200 miles. The gods of these mountains all have the body of a dragon and the head of a bird. The ritual for offering sacrifices to these mountains is to bury a piece of jade in the ground, and the grain used for the sacrifice is squid.

Eating its meat can prevent swelling and treat hemorrhoids.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Danxue Mountain with many gold and jade on it. Danshui originates from here and flows southward into the Bohai Sea. There is a kind of bird, shaped like a chicken, with five colors of patterns on its body, named Phoenix. The phoenix has a pattern with the word "virtue" on its head, a pattern with the word "righteousness" on its wings, a pattern with the word "li" on its back, a pattern with the word "ren" on its chest, and a pattern with the word "xin" on its abdomen. This kind of bird eats freely, sings and dances by itself. Wherever it appears, the world will be peaceful.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Fashuang Mountain. It has no vegetation, lots of water, and many white apes. Floodwater originates from here and flows southward into the Bohai Sea.
Another four hundred miles to the east, we reach the end of Mt. There is a valley in the south of the mountain called Yuyi Valley. There are many strange birds in the valley, and the glorious wind blows from here.
Another four hundred miles to the east, we reach the first peak of Feishan. There are many gold and jade on the top, but no water, and there are many vipers below.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Yangjia Mountain. It has no vegetation and lots of water.
Five hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Guanxiang Mountain. There are many trees on it, no grass, many strange birds, and no wild animals.
Five hundred miles further to the east, there is a mountain called Chicken Mountain. It is rich in gold on the top and many red eagles on the bottom. Blackwater originates here and flows southward into the sea. There is a kind of fish in the water, which looks like a squid but has hair. It sounds like a pig. Wherever it appears, there will be a severe drought in the world.
Four hundred miles further east, there is a mountain called Lingqiu Mountain. It has no vegetation and is full of fire. There is a valley on the south side of the mountain called Zhonggu, and the wind blows from here. There is a bird, shaped like an owl, with a human face, four eyes, and ears, named 𪉐. Its cry is its name. Wherever it appears, there will be a severe drought in the world.
Three hundred and seventy miles further to the east, there is a mountain called Lunzhe Mountain, with many gold and jade on the top and green jade below. There is a kind of tree, which is shaped like a grain tree and has red texture. Its resin is like paint and tastes like caramel. People who eat it will not feel hungry and can relieve fatigue. It is called Baiji and can be used for blood jade.
Five hundred and eighty miles further east, there is a mountain called Yucheng Mountain. There are many monsters and huge snakes in the mountain. Five hundred and eighty miles to the east, there is a mountain called Nanyu Mountain, with lots of gold and jade on the top and water below. There is a cave, water flows into the cave in spring, flows out in summer, and the cave is closed in winter. Zuoshui originates from here and flows southeast into the sea. There are phoenixes and phoenixes here.
In total, there are fourteen mountains from Tianyu Mountain, the first mountain of the three southern routes, to Nanyu Mountain, with a total distance of 6,530 miles. The gods of these mountains all have dragon bodies and human faces. The ritual for sacrificing these mountains is to use a white dog, and the grain used for the sacrifice is tassel.
