The starting mountain range of the Huashan series is Qianlai Mountain. There are dense pine trees growing on the mountain and many washing stones at the foot of the mountain. Forty-five miles to the west, there is a mountain called Songguo Mountain. The Yi River originates from here and flows northward into the Wei River. The river water is rich in copper. There is a bird in the mountains called 𫋇qu. It is shaped like a pheasant, with a black body and red feet. It can be used to treat skin diseases. Sixty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Taihua Mountain. It is square in shape, five thousand feet high and ten miles wide. No birds or animals live there. There is a kind of snake in the mountain called Fei 𧒭. It has six legs and four wings. When it appears, it will cause a severe drought in the world.
Eighty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xiaohua Mountain. The trees in the mountain are mainly thorns, and the wild animals are mostly cows. The northern slope of the mountain is mostly made of chime stones, and the southern slope is mostly made of jade. Among the birds, most of the birds are red. , can withstand fire. There is a kind of grass in the mountains called Pili. It is shaped like a black leek and grows on rocks and also on trees. Eating it can cure heartache.
Eighty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Fuyu Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in copper and the northern slope is rich in iron. There is a tree on the mountain called Wenjian. Its fruit is like a jujube, which can cure deafness. There is a kind of grass in the mountains, which is shaped like a sunflower, has red flowers, and has yellow seeds, like a baby's tongue. Eating it can make people feel at ease. Fuyu River originates from here and flows northward into the Weihe River. The beasts in the mountains are mainly onyx, which are shaped like sheep and have red manes. Most of the birds are turtles, which are shaped like kingfishers and have red beaks that can withstand fire. Sixty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Shijiang Mountain. The trees in the mountain are mainly brown nan, and the grass is mainly strip grass. It is shaped like a leek, with white flowers and black seeds. Eating it can treat scabies. Seventy miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Yingshan. There are many cypress trees on the mountain. The north slope of the mountain is full of iron and the south slope is full of red gold. Yushui originates from here and flows northward into Zhaoshui. There are many fish in the water, their shapes are like turtles and their sounds are like sheep. There are many arrow trees on the southern slope of the mountain, and the majority of wild animals are cattle and sheep. There is a bird, shaped like a quail, with a yellow body and a red beak, called Feiyi. Eating it can cure diseases and kill insects.
Fifty-two miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Zhushan. There are many trees on the mountain and the northern slope of the mountain is full of iron. There is a kind of grass in the mountains called Huangju. It is shaped like an acanthus tree, has leaves like hemp, has white flowers, is red and solid, and is shaped like ocher. Bathing with it can treat scabies and skin diseases. Bamboo water originates from here and flows northward into the Weihe River. There are many bamboo arrows and green jade on the southern slope of the mountain. Danshui originates from here and flows southeast into the Luo River. There are many jade and mermaids in the river. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a pig, with white hair all over its body, the size of a hairpin, and a black end. Its name is Hao Zhi.
One hundred and twenty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Fushan. There are many trees on the mountain. The leaves of the citrus tree are not damaged, and there are insects living in the trees. There is a kind of grass in the mountains called lavender, with leaves like hemp, square stems, red flowers, black seeds, and a smell like wormwood. Wearing it can cure diseases.
Seventy miles further west, there is a mountain called Genci Mountain. Paint water originates from here and flows northward into the Wei River. There are many cypress trees on the upper slope of the mountain, bamboo arrows on the lower slope, red copper on the northern slope, and Yingyuan jade on the southern slope. There is a kind of beast in the mountains, which looks like a monkey, has long arms, is good at throwing, and is named Xiao. There is a kind of bird, shaped like an owl, with a human face and one foot, called the owl. It appears in winter and lives dormant in summer. Wearing its feathers can protect it from thunder.
One hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Shishan. There is no vegetation on the mountain. Zhushui originates from here and flows northward into the Weihe River. The river water is rich in jade.
One hundred and seventy miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Nanshan. There are many Dan millet on the mountain. Danshui originates from here and flows northward into the Weihe River. The majority of wild animals are leopards, and the majority of birds are carcass doves.
One hundred and eighty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Dashi Mountain. There are many banyan trees and oak trees on the mountain, and there are many cypress trees at the foot of the mountain. The north slope is full of silver, and the south slope is full of white jade. The water originates from here and flows northward into the Weihe River. Qingshui originates from here and flows southward into the Han River.
Three hundred and twenty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Jimeng Mountain. The Han River originates from here and flows into the Mian River to the southeast; the Xiao River originates from here and flows into the Tang River to the north. There are many peach-branched and hook-end trees on the mountain. Most of the wild animals are rhinoceros, elephant, bear and rhinoceros, and most of the birds are white rhinoceros and red rhinoceros. There is a kind of grass in the mountains, with leaves like locusts and roots like platycodon. It has black flowers but no fruit. It is called Ligusticum. Eating it will cause infertility.
Three hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Tiandi Mountain. There are many palm trees on the upper slope and many sedge grass on the lower slope. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a dog, named Xibian. Sitting on its skin can avoid poisoning. There is a bird, shaped like a quail, with black patterns on its body and a red head, called the oak. Eating it can treat hemorrhoids. There is a kind of grass in the mountains, which looks like sunflower and smells like milfoil. It is called Du Heng. It can drive horses. Eating it can cure goiter.
Three hundred and eighty miles to the southwest, there is a mountain called Gaotu Mountain. Rose water originates from here and flows westward into Zhuzi water; Tu water originates from here and flows into Jihuo water to the south. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in Dan millet, the northern slope is rich in silver and gold, and the upper slope is rich in osmanthus trees. There is a kind of white stone called 礜 which can be used to poison rats. There is a kind of grass in the mountains, which is shaped like a dry reed, has leaves like sunflowers, and has a red back. It is called Wujiao, and it can be used to poison rats. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a deer, with a white tail, horse hooves, human hands and four horns, named 𤣎Ru. There is a bird shaped like an owl with human feet named Shusi. Eating it can treat goiter. One hundred and eighty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Huangshan. There is no grass or trees on the mountain, but there are many bamboos and arrows. Panshui originates from here and flows westward into Chishui. The river water is rich in jade. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a cow, with big black eyes, named 𤛎. There is a bird, shaped like an owl, with blue feathers and a red beak. It can speak human language, and it is called a parrot.
Two hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Cuishan. There are many palm trees on the upper slope, bamboo arrows on the lower slope, gold and jade on the southern slope, and oxen and antelope musk deer on the northern slope. Most of the birds are robins, which are shaped like magpies, with red and black bodies and four heads and feet that can withstand fire. Two hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xishan. It is close to the West Sea. It has no vegetation and is full of jade. Qishui originates from here and flows westward into the sea. The river water is rich in colored stones and gold, as well as red millet.
In total, there are nineteen mountains in the first series of mountains in the west from Qianlai Mountain to Daoshan Mountain, with a total distance of 2,957 miles. Huashan is a big tomb. The etiquette for worshiping these mountains is to use Tailao. Ganshan is a sacred mountain. Candles are used during sacrifices, hundreds of days of fasting are used, hundreds of animals are used as sacrifices, hundreds of pots of wine are used when buried, and hundreds of Gui and hundreds of bis are used as burial objects. The sacrifices on the other seventeen mountains all use a sheep as a sacrifice. Candles are made from the unburned white stems of herbaceous plants.
The second series of mountains in the west starts from Mount Qin. The upper slopes are mostly copper, the lower slopes are mostly jade, and the trees are mainly tangerines.
Two hundred miles to the west, there is a mountain called Mount Taimao. Its southern slope is rich in gold and its northern slope is rich in iron. The bathing water originates from here and flows eastward into the river. The river water contains a large number of algae jade and white snakes.
One hundred and seventy miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Shuli Mountain. The upper slope is rich in gold, and the lower slope is rich in silver. The trees are mainly wood sticks, and the birds are mainly parrots. The Chu River originates from here and flows southward into the Wei River. The river water contains a large number of pearls.
One hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Gaoshan. The upper slope is mostly silver, and the lower slope is mostly green and realgar. The trees are mainly palm trees, and the grass is mainly bamboo.
Three hundred miles to the southwest, there is a mountain called Nvtang Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is made of copper and the northern slope is made of stone. The main wild animals in the mountain are tigers, leopards, rhinos and elephants. There is a bird that looks like a Zhai bird with colorful patterns on its body. It is called the Luan bird. When it appears, the world will be peaceful.
Two hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Longshou Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in gold, and the northern slope is rich in iron. Tiao River originates from here and flows southeast into Jing River. There are many beautiful jade stones in the river.
Two hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Lutai Mountain. The mountain is full of white jade and the foot of the mountain is full of silver. The main wild animals in the mountains are cattle, sheep and white goats. There is a bird that is shaped like a rooster and has a human face. It is called the bird. Its cry is its name. When it appears, there will be war.
Two hundred miles to the southwest, there is a mountain called Niaowei Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain has many chime stones, the northern slope has many sandalwood trees, and there are many women's beds in the mountain. The Niaowei River originates from here and flows westward into Chishui. There are many red millets in the river. Four hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xiaoci Mountain. There are many white jade on the mountain and red copper at the bottom. There is a beast, shaped like an ape, but with a white head and red feet, named Zhu Yan. When it appears, there will be a large-scale war.
Three hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Daci Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is made of chalk and the northern slope is made of jade. The main wild animals in the mountain are oxen and antelopes.
Four hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xunwu Mountain. There is no vegetation on the mountain, but it is rich in gold and jade.
Four hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Yangshan. The trees on the mountain are mainly Ji trees, nan trees, and Yuzhang trees. The wild animals in the mountain are mainly rhinos, elephants, tigers, leopards, and oxen. Two hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called the Mountain of Beasts. There is a lot of jade on the mountain, and a lot of sandalwood and gold at the foot of the mountain. The wild animals in the mountain are mainly rhinos and elephants.
Five hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Huangren Mountain. There are many gold and jade on the mountain, and there are many green and realgar under the mountain. Huangshui originates from here and flows westward into Chishui. There are many red millets in the river.
Three hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Zhonghuang Mountain. There is a lot of gold on the mountain and a lot of huitang at the foot of the mountain.
Three hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xihuang Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in gold, and the northern slope is rich in iron. The main wild animals in the mountain are elk and oxen. Three hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Laishan. The trees on the mountain are mainly Tanchu, and the birds in the mountain are mainly Luoluo. This kind of bird can eat people.
In total, there are seventeen mountains in the second series of mountains in the west, from Qishan to Laishan, with a total distance of 4,140 miles. The gods of these ten mountains all have a human face and a horse body. The gods of the other seven mountains all have a human face and an ox body. They have four legs and one arm and walk with a staff. They are considered to be the gods of flying beasts. The ritual for worshiping these mountains is to use Shaolao hair and white sedge as mats. The ten higher-ranking gods used a rooster in their sacrifices and did not need to use grains as sacrifices.
The third series of mountains in the west starts from Chongwu Mountain, located on the south bank of the river. It looks to the north of Mengsui Mountain, to the south of Quanze, to the west of Dibo Beast Hill, and to the east of Woyuan. There is a kind of tree on the mountain with round leaves, white trunk, red flowers and black fruits, which are actually like tangerine trees. Eating them is beneficial to future generations. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a monkey, with patterned arms, and good at throwing like a leopard and tiger, named Jufu. There is a kind of bird that looks like a mallard, but has only one wing and one eye. It requires the cooperation of two birds to fly. It is called Manman. When it appears, there will be a flood in the world.
Three hundred miles to the northwest, there is a mountain called Changsha Mountain. The Sishui River originates from here and flows into the Glaze River to the north. There is no vegetation on the mountain and it is mostly green and realgar.
Three hundred and seventy miles to the northwest, there is a mountain called Buzhou Mountain. Looking to the north is Zhubi Mountain, close to Yuechong Mountain, and to the east is Glaze, where the river flows undercurrent. The source water is strong. There is a delicious fruit here, which actually looks like a peach, with leaves like dates, yellow flowers, and red fruits. You will not feel tired after eating it.
Four hundred and twenty miles to the northwest, there is a mountain called Mishan. There are many Danmu trees on the mountain, with round leaves, red trunks, yellow flowers, and red fruits that taste like caramel. You will not feel hungry after eating them. Danshui originates from here and flows westward into Jize. There is a lot of white jade in the river, and there is jade paste. The water at the source is boiling. Huangdi ate the water and enjoyed it, thus producing Xuanyu. The place where the jade paste flows out is used to water the redwood. After five years of danmu, the five colors become clear and the five flavors become fragrant. The Yellow Emperor took jade from Mishan Mountain and threw it into the south slope of Zhongshan Mountain. Jinyu jade is of excellent texture, hard and textured, with light in the turbidity, and five colors radiating out, harmonizing softness and hardness. All the ghosts and gods of heaven and earth eat this water and enjoy it. A gentleman wears it to ward off bad luck. From Mishan to Zhongshan, four hundred and sixty miles, this area is all swamp. There are many strange birds, monsters, and fish here, all of which are unusual creatures.
Four hundred and twenty miles to the northwest, there is a mountain named Zhongshan, and its son is named Gu. It is shaped like a human and has a face like a dragon. He and Qin Qin killed Baojiang on the south slope of Kunlun Mountain, and the emperor executed him on the east slope of Zhongshan Mountain, called 𡺯 Cliff. Qinyi transformed into a big osprey, shaped like an eagle, with black patterns on its body, a white head, a red beak and tiger-striped talons. It sounded like a morning swan. When it appeared, there would be a great war. The drum also turned into a bird, shaped like an owl, with red feet, a straight beak, yellow patterns, a white head, and a voice like a swan. When it appeared, that place would be hit by a severe drought.
One hundred and eighty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Taiqi Mountain. Guanshui originates from here and flows westward into the quicksand. There are many manta rays here, shaped like carps, with bird wings on their bodies, pale patterns, white heads, and red beaks. They often swim in the West Sea, play in the East China Sea, and fly at night. Their sound is like Luan Chicken, their taste is sweet and sour, and eating them can cure madness. When they appear, the world will have a good harvest.
Three hundred and twenty miles further west, there is a mountain called Huaijiang Mountain. Qiushi Water originates from here and flows northward into Glaze Water. There are many beetles here, the mountains are green and real yellow, and there are Langgan, gold and jade hidden there. The southern slope of the mountain is rich in Dan millet, and the northern slope is rich in gold and silver. This is actually the garden of the Emperor of Heaven, where the divine heroes are recruited. Its shape is like a horse body and a human face, with tiger stripes and bird wings. It travels all over the world and its voice is like a pomegranate. Looking south at Kunlun Mountain, the light is blazing and the breath is soulful. Looking to the west of Daze, Houji once hid here. There are many jade stones and many eucalyptus trees on the north slope. Looking north at Zhubi Mountain, the Sophora japonica ghost Lilun lives here and is the home of eagles and falcons. Looking east towards 40% of Tashan Mountain, there are poor ghosts living in each corner. There is lustful water here, clear Luoshui. There is a god in Luoshui, whose shape is like a cow, with eight legs, two heads, a horse tail, and a voice like Bo Huang. When it appears, there will be war in that place.
Four hundred miles to the southwest, there is a mountain called Kunlun Qiu. This is the capital of the Emperor of Heaven, and the god Lu Wu manages it. The shape of the god is like a tiger body with nine tails, and a human face with tiger ears. This god governs the nine departments of heaven. In the garden of the Emperor of Heaven, there is often a beast that looks like a sheep and has four horns. It is called a mole and can eat people. There is a kind of bird, shaped like a bee and as big as a mandarin duck, called the Qinyuan cockroach. It can kill birds and animals and wither trees. There is a bird called the quail, which manages hundreds of costumes of the Emperor of Heaven. There is a kind of tree, shaped like a Tang tree, with yellow flowers and red fruits. It tastes like plums but has no seeds. It is called Shatang. It is waterproof and can prevent people from drowning after eating it. There is a kind of grass called Pingcao, which looks like sunflower and tastes like onion. It can relieve fatigue after eating. The river originates from here and flows southward into Wuda. Chishui originates from here. Ocean water originates from here and flows southwestward into Choutu water. The black water originates from here and flows westward into Daguo. There are many strange birds and beasts here.
Three hundred and seventy miles further west, there is a mountain named Leyou Mountain. Peach water originates from here and flows westward into Jize. There are many white jade here. There is a kind of slippery fish in the water, which is shaped like a snake and has four legs. It eats fish.
Traveling westward for four hundred miles, the water is called quicksand. Walking another two hundred miles, you will arrive at Zhuanmu Mountain. This is a place guarded by the chief priest and the chief priest, which represents the nine virtues of heaven. This god looks like a human, with a leopard tail. There are many jade stones on the mountain and blue stones on the bottom of the mountain, but there is no water.
Three hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Yushan. This is where the Queen Mother of the West lives. The Queen Mother of the West looks like a human being, with a leopard tail and tiger teeth. She is good at roaring, has disheveled hair, and wears a victory crown. Four hundred and eighty miles further west, there is a mountain called Xuanyuan Qiu. There is no vegetation here. The Xun River originates from here and flows southward into the Black Water. There are many red millets, green and realgar in the water.
Three hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Jishi Mountain. There is a stone gate at the foot of the mountain, and the river flows westward from here. This mountain holds everything in the world.
Two hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Changliu Mountain, where Bai Emperor and Shaohao lived. The beasts in the mountains have patterned tails, and the birds have patterned heads. There are many patterned jade stones here, which are actually the palace of the Yuan Shen. These gods were primarily responsible for managing the negative landscape.
Two hundred and eighty miles to the west, there is a mountain called Zhang'e Mountain. There is no vegetation here, there are many jade greens, and the things are very strange. There is a beast in the mountains, which looks like a red leopard, has five tails and one horn, and its cry is like hitting a stone. Its name is ferocious. There is also a bird, shaped like a crane, standing on one leg, with red patterns on its body, cyan texture, and white beak. It is called Bifang. Its cry is its name. When it appears, there will be fire in the town.
Three hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Yinshan. The turbid bathing water originates from here and flows southward into Fanze. There are many patterned shells in the water. There is a beast in the mountains, which is shaped like a civet cat and has a white head. It is called Tengu. Its cry is like a pomegranate, which can ward off evil.
Two hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Futan Mountain. There are many brown nan on the mountain and many gold and jade at the foot of the mountain. Shenjiang may live here. This mountain often experiences strange rains and is the birthplace of storms.
Two hundred and twenty miles further west, there is a mountain called Sanwei Mountain, where three blue birds live. This mountain has a radius of hundreds of miles. There is a kind of beast on the mountain. It looks like a cow, has a white body, four horns, and its hair is like a coir raincoat. Its name is Ao𢓨, and it can eat people. There is also a bird with one head and three bodies, shaped like 𪇱, which is called the owl. One hundred and ninety miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Xishan. There are many jade and few rocks on the mountain. The god Qidian lives here. Its sound is often like a bell. There are many snakes at the foot of the mountain.
Three hundred and fifty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Tianshan. There are many gold, jade, green and realgar here. Yingshui originates from here and flows southwest into Yugu. There is a god in the mountain, shaped like a yellow bag, red as red fire, with six legs and four wings, a round body without a face, and the ability to sing and dance. He is actually the God of Dijiang.
Two hundred and ninety miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Glaishan Mountain, where Shen Pesshou lives. There are many short jade stones on the mountain. There are many jade jade stones on the south slope of the mountain, and there are many green and realgar jade stones on the north slope. The mountain can be seen to the west where the sun sets, and its atmosphere is mysterious, dominated by the divine red light.
Traveling westward for a hundred miles, we reach Yiwang Mountain. There is no vegetation here, but there are many gold and jade. There is a beast in the mountains, shaped like a civet cat, with one eye and three tails, named 𬤰. Its cry can imitate hundreds of sounds, which can ward off evil. Eating its meat can cure jaundice. There is also a bird, shaped like a crow, with three heads and six tails. It likes to laugh and is called a bird. Eating its meat can make people not feel bored and can ward off evil.
In total, from Chongwu Mountain to Yiwang Mountain, there are twenty-three mountains in the third series of mountains in the west, with a total distance of 6,744 miles. The gods of these mountains all have goat bodies and human faces. The ritual for offering sacrifices to these mountains is to bury an auspicious jade stone into the ground, and the grain used for sacrifices is millet.
The fourth series of mountains in the west starts from the Yinshan Mountains. There are many cereal crops on the mountains, there are no stones, and the grass is mainly corn. Yinshui originates from here and flows westward into the Luo River.
Fifty miles to the north, there is a mountain called Laoshan. There are many grasses here. The weak water originates from here and flows westward into the Luo River.
Fifty miles to the west, there is a mountain called Bafu Mountain. The Er River originates from here and flows west into the Luo River. The water is rich in green.
One hundred and seventy miles to the north, there is a mountain called Shenshan. There are many banyan trees and oak trees on the mountain, and many cypress trees at the foot of the mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is full of gold and jade. District water originates here and flows eastward into the river.
Two hundred miles to the north, there is a mountain called Bird Mountain. There are many mulberry trees on the mountain, and many mulberry trees at the foot of the mountain. There are many irons on the north slope of the mountain, and many yew trees on the south slope. The humiliating water originates from here and flows eastward into the river.
One hundred and twenty miles further north, there is a mountain named Shangshen Mountain. There is no vegetation on the mountain and there are many rocks. There are many hazel and eucalyptus trees at the foot of the mountain. Most of the wild animals here are white deer, and most of the birds are hawks. They are shaped like pheasants and can fly with their beards. You will not be dizzy after eating its meat. The soup originates from here and flows eastward into the river.
One hundred and eighty miles further to the north, there is a mountain called Zhuci Mountain. The Zhuci Water originates from here and flows eastward into the river. There are many trees on this mountain but no grass. No birds or animals live there, but there are many snakes. One hundred and eighty miles further to the north, there is a mountain called Haoshan. The trees here are mostly lacquer and palm trees, the grasses are many yarrows and corianders, and there are many rocks. Duanshui originates from here and flows eastward into the river.
Two hundred and twenty miles further to the north, there is a mountain called Yushan. The northern slope of the mountain is rich in iron, and the southern slope is rich in copper. The wild animals are many white wolves and white tigers, and the birds are many white pheasants and white jades. Raw water originates from here and flows eastward into the river.
Two hundred and fifty miles to the west, there is a mountain called Baiyu Mountain. There are many lacquer trees on the mountain, many gold and jade under the mountain, and the birds and animals are all white. Laishui originates from here and flows northward into Lingyangze. There are many ranyi fish here, with fish bodies and snake heads, six legs, and eyes like horse ears. Eating its meat can prevent people from squinting and resist evil.
Three hundred miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Zhongqu Mountain. The southern slope of the mountain is full of jade, and the northern slope is full of realgar, white jade and gold. There is a beast here, shaped like a horse, with a white body and a black tail, one horn, tiger fangs and claws, and a sound like a drum. It is called the guan. It eats tigers and leopards and can withstand weapons. There is a tree here, shaped like a tangerine tree, with round leaves and red fruits. The fruit is as big as a papaya. It is called 氰木. Eating it can increase your strength.
Two hundred and sixty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Qiu Mountain. There is a beast on the mountain. It looks like a cow, has hedgehog hair on its body, is called Qiongqi, has a sound like a howling dog, and is a man-eater. Mengshui originates from here and flows southward into Yangshui. There are many yellow clam fish in the water, with fish bodies and bird wings, and sounds like mandarin ducks. When they appear, there will be floods in the town.
Two hundred and twenty miles further to the west, there is a mountain called Bird Mouse Tongcao Mountain. There are many white tigers and white jade on the mountain. The Wei River originates from here and flows eastward into the river. There are many anchovies in the water, shaped like anchovies, and their movement will bring war to the town. Floodwater originates from the west of the mountain and flows westward into the Han River. There are many mackerel fish, shaped like an inverted horn, with bird heads, fish wings and fish tails, and a sound like the sound of chimes, which can produce pearls and jade.
Three hundred and sixty miles to the southwest, there is a mountain called Kuanxi Mountain. There are many red trees on the mountain. The leaves are like grains and the fruits are as big as melons. They have red markings and black texture. Eating them can cure jaundice and resist fire. There are many turtles on the southern slope of the mountain, and many jade on the northern slope. Tiao Shui originates from here and flows westward into the sea. There are many rivers in the water. There is a kind of beast here, with the body of a horse and the wings of a bird, and the face of a human and the tail of a snake. It likes to lift people. It is called Shuhu. There is a kind of bird, shaped like an owl, with a human face, a small body and a dog's tail. Its name is its own voice. When it appears, there will be a severe drought in the town.
